Cliffs, Skies, Sea and Sammiches

The view from Auchmithie looking down from the village. A classic 'sammich' spot.

  1. Hey, there a 'durdle door' type arch out on that second point down... does it have a name, Neil?

  2. We have included your blog in our guide Around The World.

The guide is both a record of old blogs and a listing of new blogs. Although originally arising from the "City Daily Photo Blog" lists this is an independent publication. Inclusion here does not imply that a blog qualifies for nor is officially a CDPB. Our criteria are that photographs mainly from and related to a specific geographical location (not necessarily a "city" but usually more specific than a whole country or region) are posted at dated intervals (not necessarily daily) and archives are kept which are readily searchable by date.

Please keep us informed of any changes to your details.

  3. Marnie - 'Durdle door'.... where does that come from, new one on me. But I get the jist. There are a number of these rock arches along the cliffs from Arbroath to Auchmithie. The most famous one is called the 'De'ils Ee' (Devils eye). I looked to see if I could find the name of this one, but no joy so far. If I find out I'll let you know. There's a nice page here: http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/arbroath/auchmithie/index.html. Gives a better pic of the arch as it's taken from the sea.

  5. Hey! I just discovered your blog - another person from my neck of the woods ... Great to meet you.

Congrats on the 'Around The World' directory inclusion - no presure then. lol.

It's great to find an interesting blog about Angus ... I am from Dundee.

PS (If I hear about my beloved city being ridiculed, I will be vocal with my oppinions ...)

  6. Hey Sharon, nice to meet you too. As a matter of interest how did you find my blog?
As to your beloved city being ridiculed.... why would I do that? I'm a Dundonian too.
If you take the time to read my blog, you'll realise that I have a very soft spot for the city of my birth. And anyway, as a true Dundonain you'll understand that it's ok for us to ridicule our city, but let any outsiders start.....
Which part of the town are you from?
