Dog Shit Bins

In an effort to combine Scenic Sunday with a specific request from a fellow blogger who may wish to remain anonymous, I'm posting these pics of dog shit bins.
Now I'm aware that for some of you, this may not be the most tasteful subject for Scenic Sunday, but nevertheless, I feel it's important not to underestimate the importance of dog shit bins. Without these vital receptacles we'd all be ankle deep in canine faeces.
Furthermore, I'd like to point out the lengths I went to in order to find the most Scenic dog shit bin I could. I think you'll agree that given the difficult subject 'matter', the bottom pic is quite possibly one of the most tranquil and beautiful spots for a dog shit bin..... unless of course, you know better!

  1. Very scenic Neil, I'm a bit concerned about the height of the bins, the colour is good, very easy to spot, but my dogs are very small and I really can't see them managing to reach that high

  4. What an amusing scenic post! Obviously the scenery is improved by the absence of dog shit on the ground. Who empties the bins?

  6. 'Failure to remove dog faeces is a Criminal offence' - all well and good but where do you put them once you've taken them out of the red box?

  8. If only people would remember to use these bins. How many walks do you go on where you are continually dodging highly colourful and decorative full dogshit bags hanging from various branches of trees, by people who are to damn lazy to carry these bags with them to the red receptacle.
Come to think of it, maybe we should have a photo comp for the most scenic location of a dogshit bag ?

Can any doggy type out there please tell me if you ever get used to the feel o that warm wee thing on the other side o the placcie bag?

  12. I was walking through a park yesterday, and on the noticeboard at the entrance was dominated by a giant poster with a photo of dog shit. Obviousy this is one of the few parks that people from out of town are likely to visit.

  13. We have bear proof dog-shit bins here. I mean, what self-respecting bear would want to get into it anyway ...

P - we frequently leave our bright blue poop bags on the side of the route we are walking the dogs. However, this is only when we are doing a 'there and back again' route and so we collect them on the way out? Am I forgiven for only temporarily blighting the landscape?
