Scottish summer skies. Took these from Dunnichen looking towards Craichie on Wednesday evening. The slate grey clouds seem to have been a feature of our skies this summer. Not surprisingly we had a lovely thunderstorm that night.

These skys look to be threatening some rain or at least thunder. Very nice shot for SkyWatch Friday.

We have had plenty of gray skies over here in New England this summer. Not so many thunder storms just a lot of rain, rain, rain.
ReplyDeleteSame here this last week Neil, we've had more thunder storms here this summer than in the last 3 or 4 years together
ReplyDeleteGreat sky shots... loved the needy dogs!
ReplyDeleteThat top photo makes me feel like I'm in a sandwich.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's a lovely bottom photo, Neil. ;-)
I see what you mean Neil, Ms TB does have a bottom photo fixation !
ReplyDeleteThat was a hell of a thunderstorm in Arbroath that evening, the garden was under 3" of water, and then the power went off for 2 hrs !
Someone in blog land (sorry for choaryin off ye) quotes Billy Connolly's most apt statement on the weather which goes somethin like, "Scotland has 2 seasons, June and winter".
ReplyDeleteBilly Connolly also lost his virginity in a caravan park in Arbroath.
These 2 fact are maybe connected by more than Billy Connolly.
We seem to have the same weather in Scotland and Germany. My last swf-picture shows such a dark heaven, too. Hope we get some more sun this summer, Katrin
ReplyDeleteI love to watch thunderstorms. These sky captures are beautiful
