Took these about a month ago at Forfar Loch. Halfway around the perimiter path you come across a little peninsula thing where they have a sort of boat house and launching area.
The word on the street is that this is one of the best areas to spot those elusive otters......
..... but I've yet to come across the wee buggers.
I'm beginning to take it personally...

aloha,
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing a little bit about your world today, thats a very beautiful scene of the area though, oh well it gives you an excuse to be outdoors more often:)
Just wait and wait and in the meanwhile take beautiful pictures like the ones above.
ReplyDeleteHi Neil, I hope you sight those otters next time, but your photos are great.
ReplyDeleteSuper photos. He's behind you!
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures of grass and also like the term "wee buggers"
ReplyDeleteLOL! I love the photos you have taken though...
ReplyDeleteThat's because they are under the Scalpay Bridge.
ReplyDeleteYo, Neil, i sympathise wi yer fruitless otter hunt. Spent too many hours o ma life lookin for them and yet to see a single one in this country (i've seen them in India).
ReplyDeleteThought i saw one on the Water o Leith at Canonmills one time but turned out to be a mink.
Hrrruuuumph.
Susan - thank you for that piece of advice... lol.
ReplyDeleteFrosty - Oh no he isn't....
Yogi - a Scottish term of affection....no..really!
JM - The wee buggers can cover some ground eh? This explains why I used to see folks fishing off the bridge.....where you see otters, you find fish!
the otters round here are dusk and dawn creatures
ReplyDeleteThe only times i've seen otters, Neil, was when i lived on Skye. And like Donnie said, only at dusk and dawn. I reckon, as with the dolphins in Moray Firth, otters have been driven away from the Inverness area. :/
ReplyDeleteThe best way to see them might be to show up without your camera, or with a camera with a dead battery, or a camera you forgot to put the memory card back into... you get my drift. ;-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos all the same.
