Monifieth Beach

Taken this morning at Monifieth. Above is looking from the beach across the park to the village.

I spent a large chunk of my childhood pottering about on those sands. I learned many things there......

How to swim, how to fish, how to play golf, how to scavenge, how to start a fire, how not to drink cider........ the list goes on.

  1. Great captures, Neil! Really interesting skies, too! Beautiful beach! Fun to revisit the places where we learned all "that stuff"! Hope you have a great week!

  2. Your world reminds me of my world where sandy beaches and soggy puddles provide hours of fun for kids and grownups. Thanks for sharing a little of your memories and your wonderful spot on earth.

  3. Penelope is right, she and I both posted our home beach(es) today, too, and there are many similarities.
But I had to go to Google Maps to find Monifieth. Between Dundee and Arbroath, how absolutely wonderful!! Grandma was from Aberdeen, and someone (not Grandma) went home to Scotland for a visit, bringing my mother a potholder in the shape of a fish -- an Arbroath Smokie. My little sister immediately claimed it as a pet, and it entered into many a conversation during her childhood and even later.

  4. Great beach view. What a wonderful learning place. Better than schools!

  5. There are places we learn things we never forget, a beach is an excellent school. Great photos.

  6. Thank you for sharing these beautiful sky photos

    Have a nice week,
    Greetings, Bram

  7. Look at that sky in the last photo! It's like someone slathered whipped cream over it. Or maybe I just need a snack.
