Seen Any Otters?

Took these about a month ago at Forfar Loch. Halfway around the perimiter path you come across a little peninsula thing where they have a sort of boat house and launching area.

The word on the street is that this is one of the best areas to spot those elusive otters......

..... but I've yet to come across the wee buggers.

I'm beginning to take it personally...

  9. Yo, Neil, i sympathise wi yer fruitless otter hunt. Spent too many hours o ma life lookin for them and yet to see a single one in this country (i've seen them in India).

Thought i saw one on the Water o Leith at Canonmills one time but turned out to be a mink.

    Hrrruuuumph.

  10. Susan - thank you for that piece of advice... lol.

Frosty - Oh no he isn't....

    Yogi - a Scottish term of affection....no..really!

JM - The wee buggers can cover some ground eh? This explains why I used to see folks fishing off the bridge.....where you see otters, you find fish!

  12. The only times i've seen otters, Neil, was when i lived on Skye. And like Donnie said, only at dusk and dawn. I reckon, as with the dolphins in Moray Firth, otters have been driven away from the Inverness area. :/

  13. The best way to see them might be to show up without your camera, or with a camera with a dead battery, or a camera you forgot to put the memory card back into... you get my drift. ;-)

    Beautiful photos all the same.
