Three hours it took me to get these pics online! Google can be a bugger sometimes,
Top pic is the Applecoss Inn, probably the best fish n chips in Scotland, there was a prog recently about a marine biologist who stayed here for a summer. Can't remember what it was called but it showed some great scenery around this area, including the Bealach Na Ba. His name was Monty.
Middle pic is in Inverewe Gardens, an amazing place. I went in October and it was fine, but I can imagine it in August when everything is in bloom.
Bottom pic is an iconic image taken from a sightly different angle. If I could remember the name of the castle, I'd tell you, but it's late and my brain's dead!
I love Eilean Donan! It is my dream to see it in reality someday! I found your site this week as you posted on skywatch. I am completely infatuated with all things Scottish! I love your photos and will visit often just to enjoy dreaming about my favorite spot on earth!
ReplyDeleteThe photos you frustratingly uploaded are, of course, beautiful buuuut best fish n chips in all of Scotland and no photo of a chip poke with a dad o glue... that would have been a barry pic, Neil!
ReplyDeleteThat would indeed've been barry and even barryer wi a wee splash o chippy sauce. Tis the best damn condiment on earth and strangely unavailable outside the eastern half o Scotland's central belt. Falkirk's the furtherst West i've ever found it but please tell me if i'm wrong.
ReplyDeleteNeil, been tryin to email you bout Comrades but failed delivery to the addres on your profile. You aware of any problem?
Three hours for three shots? Not bad at all!
ReplyDeleteI know it ie the least skywatcht shot, but I love the middle one.
I can appreciate a good condiment, so what is chippy sauce?
ReplyDeleteChippy sauce? Hmmmm....to be entirely honest, it's a closely guarded secret and, as i dinnae run a chippy, i actually dinnae ken. All i can say is that it mos def contains some nippy broon (HP or similar brown sauce). Oh, and it's wonderful. Some chippies sell bottles o the stuff and i have mates from London who stock up whenever they're in Embra. For real. Weegies claim to despise the stuff and generally lather their chips in vinegar. But they're foolin naeb'dy. We ken fine they love it really.
ReplyDelete(eyes spinning)
ReplyDeleteJeeezus! I haven't even started up my google!
And I need another coffee...
And you thought I was bad......
ReplyDeleteNaldo has a peculiarly Embra venacular.... which is ace btw!
Naldo - yes, been having email probs. Try the new email on my profile page. Should work.
ReplyDeleteA few days ago was the first time I'd ever seen the word 'Embra' and I'm not going to say how long it took for my ah-huh moment to show up.
ReplyDeleteGot to say I think you're pretty damn quick on the uptake.
