Back to Clova

A thing you're beginning to see less and less of in this country, phone boxes. So I find it a bit odd that this one still exists in the middle of Glen Clova, miles from nowhere. What's even odder is that it sits right outside the Clova Hotel, which has more phones than you could shake a stick at.

This is the Pipers Hillock, half way up the Glen. Just a hill in the middle of nowhere with a graveyard. Can think of few more beautiful places to be laid to rest.

Never saw any pipers though, maybe they're all brown bread!

Yet another lonely old cottage, a bit of serious restoration and a lick of paint? You never know eh?

  4. It is not surpring that your grave yards look very much like the 17th, 18th and 19th century grave yards here on Cape Ann.

  7. I find cemeteries are very often the most beautiful and peaceful of places (as morbid as that might sound). And I like reading the stones and wondering about who the people were and what their lives were like.

I know I've seen a old British telephone box or two in Victoria... I can't remember where but I know there are a couple... will keep an eye open.

  9. I have a miniature phone box like that as a memento. And we do have those resting places like that here too! Apparently, Australia is just an extension of the UK traditional life. Beautiful pictures shared here in your My World Blog! Interesting ever!

  10. That cottage is probably worth millions! People would die to have a little bit of Old Scotland and tranquility as well.

  15. Very pretty country.

The red telephone box reminds me of one I saw in The Caribbean - here's the link if you'd like to check it out.

Pussers is a type of rum they make there on the island - It isn't a bad link or one that will cause a virus - I check it out often & there's no viruses!

  16. Oh I forgot to say that link is to a web cam on the island in The Caribbean where they make the rum. It's a tropical view of beautiful Caribbean water & skies!!!
